Since I seem to have the whole workout thing down, here is where I’ll document my workout log and routines that work for me. In other words, here is where the magic happens….

March 28 – April 3

  • 3/28: Post Marathon Rest Day (Sat on couch all day and consumed lots of carbs)
  • 3/29: 6 easy miles on the treadmill; 8 minute arm routine (will share later)
  • 3/30: 6 easy miles in Central Park
  • 3/31: 3 miles and 30 minutes on the elliptical; 8 minute arm routine
  • 4/1: Interval weights; 60 minutes on stair stepper
  • 4/2: 12 miles in Central Park; light weight workout
  • 4/3: 9 miles on East River; quickie abs; Whiffle Ball (yes I belong to a whiffle ball league)

April 4 – April 10

  • 4/4: 5 miles on treadmill; 8 minute arm routine and quickie abs
  • 4/5: 1 mile on treadmill; 50 minutes on stair stepper and quickie abs
  • 4/6: Morning run – 4 miles in Central Park; evening arms/abs/squats
  • 4/7: 9 miles on treadmill; 8 minute arm routine and abs
  • 4/8: 45 minutes on elliptical; abs
  • 4/9: 7 miles gradually increasing speed from 6.5 to 8.0 on treadmill; light arm and abs workout
  • 4/10: Shopping and a trip to my fave candy store (aka rest day)

April 11-April 17

  • 4/11: 6 miles in Central Park; light weights in the evening
  • 4/12: 3 miles on treadmill; 30 minutes on elliptical watching Sex and the City ;-)
  • 4/13: 6 miles on treadmill; push-ups and abs
  • 4/14: 30 minutes on elliptical; 45 minute “therapeutic” walk home
  • 4/15: 6.5 miles on treadmill; 8 minute arms
  • 4/16: 12 miles on treadmill; light weights
  • 4/17: Powerstrike
April 18-24
  • 4/18: 6 miles; weights
  • 4/19: 30 minutes elliptical; 30 minutes stair stepper; abs
  • 4/20: 3.5 miles; trainer tune up
  • 4/21: 6.5 miles Central Park
  • 4/22:5 miles on treadmill; quickie arms
  • 4/23: 3 miles on outdoor trail; abs

April 25-May 1

  • 6/2: 75 minute walk home and catch-up with BFF

  • 6/4: 12 mile run down East River over Williamsburg bridge and back; walking intervals at some points

June 6 – June 12

  • 6/6: 30 minutes stair stepper; 15 elliptical; 15 row machine; arms and abs
  • 6/7: 6 miles in Central Park; arms and abs
  • 6/8: REST
  • 6/9: 50 minutes elliptical in AM; 50 minutes in PM; full arms/abs

June 13 – June 19

  • 6/13: 15 minutes stair stepper; 40 minutes elliptical; arms and abs

  • 6/16: 6 mile run on treadmill; abs

June 20 – June 26

  • 6/20: 3 mile run; 45 minutes spin; light weights

  • 6/22: Lazy Girl’s Workout (50 minutes on elliptical, random weights)
  • 6/23: 6 mile run; mini weight work-out
  • 6/24: 4 mile run; trainer tune-up
  • 6/25: 8 mile run; 30 minutes elliptical; 8 minute arms, abs, light legs
  • 6/26: 6 mile run; 45 minutes spinning; arms

June 27 – July 3

  • 6/27: 3 mile run; 45 minutes spin; light weights
  • 6/28: 3 mile run, 8 minute arms, abs
  • 6/29: 60 minutes elliptical, 30 minutes rower, situps

  • 7/1: 3 mile run outside, 45 minutes spinning, arms, squats, abs
  • 7/2: Cardio sculpt, 45 minutes spinning

July 4 – July 10

  • 7/4: 60 minutes kickboxing; 6 mile run; quick arms
  • 7/5: 30 minutes stair stepper, 3 mile run, arms, abs
  • 7/6: 60 minutes ellitpical
  • 7/7:  3 mile run, 30 minutes elliptical, arms, abs
  • 7/8: 50 minutes stair stepper, full weights
  • 7/9: REST DAY
  • 7/10: 6 miles and spin

July 11 – July 17

  • 7/11: 4 miles run; arms and abs
  • 7/12: 5 mile run and 30 minutes elliptical; arms and abs
  • 7/13: REST DAY
  • 7/14:  60 minutes stairstepper
  • 7/15: 3 mile run; spinning, abs and quick arms
  • 7/16: 8 mile run and kickboxing; arms; abs
  • 7/17: REST DAY

July 18 – July 24

  • 7/18: 5 mile run; arms and abs
  • 7/19: 60 minutes stairstepp
  • 7/20: 6 mile run
  • 7/21:  3 mile run; 30 minutes stair stepper
  • 7/22: 30 minutes stair stepper; 20 minutes elliptical
  • 7/23: 45 minutes on elliptical; 3 mile run; arms and abs
  • 7/24: 2 mile run

July 25 – July 31

  • 7/25: 3 mile run; 20 minutes on elliptical; abs
  • 7/26: 3 mile run and 60 minutes on elliptical; circuit training
  • 7/27: 6 mile run
  • 7/28:  3 mile run; 30 minutes on elliptical; circuit training
  • 7/29: 6 miles on treadmill; full weights
  • 7/30: 1 mile run on track; 25 minutes on stair stepper; 20 minutes on elliptical
  • 7/31: 3 mile run outside

8/1 – 9/10 BREAK FROM RECORDING WORKOUTS:

Still working out but not recording workouts due to being unable to run and being unhappy about it.

9/11 – 9/17 – COMEBACK TIME

  • 9/11: 4.5 mile run at 6.0; 60 minutes spin; abs
  • 9/12: 45 minutes spin; 3 mile run at 9 min/mile; abs; arms
  • 9/13: 45 minutes stairmaster; quick arms and abs; awkward physical therapy (post to come)
  • 9/14: 45 minutes spin; 3 mile run; abs
  • 9/15: Jersey Shore and Couch Monster (REST DAY)
  • 9/16: 4 miles; 45 minutes spin; abs
  • 9/17: 4 miles

9/18 – 9/24

  • 9/18: REST
  • 9/19: 3 miles; 15 minutes stairstepper; quick arms; abs

      I used Hal Higdon’s beginner’s marathon training for my first my marathon and for my third, I used his advanced training guide. I totally recommend it. He’s great, and it’s all online. Most importantly, it’s FREE. I’m going to do a post on my marathon training one of these days. Stay tuned -)
