Oh hello and welcome to another edition of late night office fun with Sometimes Healthy Girl! I knew it might be a bit of a late night tonight, so I planned ahead. Seriously, I did this ALL on purpose.
Here’s how a Sometimes Healthy Girl makes working late cool:
Knowing she’ll be missing out on her required hour of late night downtime watching quality television in the form of Real Housewives, she forgoes her early morning workout and succumbs to the Couch Monster….again.
Some might wonder why she would wake up an hour early just to watch arguably bad television, but there is always a method to her madness…
Feeling guilty for skipping the morning workout, she slips out of the office during lunchtime to get in a short 30 minute power workout.
Even though she’s just lifting, she manages to work up a sweat…
But she quickly pulls that sweaty hair into a quick pony tail and heads back to work…
Good thing she wears a lot of perfume.
As night time approaches, she starts to get a little stir crazy and she can’t risk getting in a quick run, since the great New York week-long monsoon has finally ended.
When she gets back to the office, she finishes her workout with some tricep dips and situps.
Her late night warrior coworker thinks she’s so cool that she joins in on the fun…even though she’s wearing a dress.
After the tricep dip fun is over, she heads back to her computer full of sweat and good ideas.
As hunger sits in, she realizes she’s out of food. Luckily, her floor is equipped with a nutrition-less vending machine. Per, Chloe’s suggestion, she selects the pretzels, along with an artificial-sweetner packed Coke Zero. This is why she’s SOMETIMES Healthy.
If only a little fairy could sweep in and bring her fro-yo covered in Fruity Pebbles…but alas, this picture is recycled.
Writer’s block sets in (as does the sweet tooth) so she does a quick lap around the office, where she ends up at the Corner Office Candy Dish…These will go perfectly with the pretzels.
To ensure she’s caught up on her current events for the projects she’s supposed to be completing, she heads to the office media room to catch up on some Glamour and Shape.
And finally, after all that productivity, she writes up a quick blog post about how to bring the “cool” back to working late…then she realizes every minute she spends on this post is another minute away from her warm bed…and that is not cool – that is just plain stupid 🙂
And with that, I’ll say goodnight AND Happy Friday!
Question:
Do you work late very often? How do you make it “fun?”
What is your job? It looks like a fun place to work.
Whenever we stay late at the office, the owner usually orders a pizza and we all kick off our shoes…it’s pretty casual after hours!
What a fun post and what an awesome job fitting in exercise during such a hectic schedule – good for you! 🙂
I do work late way to often, but fortunately I work at home with my own schedule, I feel very lucky about that! I’m trying to gradually move my working hours earlier by getting my workout in pre-breakfast and making sure not to take a leisurely lunch. Hopefully that should boost my productivity, increase sleep time, and make my husband much happier! 🙂
This is a great post! I wish the yogurt fairy could come at the snap of my fingers.. I would order up some peanut butter fro-yo with brownies, m&ms, sprinkles.. the WORKS! 🙂
Hahaha! I couldn’t help laughing at several points in this entry. A couple of things:
1. I totally know the Couch Monster and I KNEW that’s what he looked like! 😉
2. I am so pleased about how honest you are re: showering or not after a quick weights workout. Honesty is so key and refreshing!
3. Kudos on peer pressuring your friend into tricep dips!
Happy Friiiiday.
Haha- this is awesome 😉
Fruity Pebbles on fro-yo are my FAVORITE too! I need a fro yo fairy right about NOW! …or a Starbucks fairy- either would be great!
